Arlene Dickenson

Many of us know Arlene Dickinson from "Dragon’s Den," where she appeared as a judge for eight seasons deciphering which budding entrepreneur deserved start-up money. The successful venture capitalist also appeared on "The Big Decision" and "Under New Management," and is the author of two bestsellers: Persuasion and All In. Not enough? She is the CEO of YouInc.com as well as CEO of Venture Communications right here in Calgary. She is renowned for her independent marketing and communications knowledge and it sure shows.

An incredibly successful woman Arlene has been recognized time and time again, in Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100, Chatelaine’s Top 100 Women Business Owners, and many more. However she does not hold this fortune close to her chest, but shares it in abundance. She is a generous philanthropist and supporter of many causes that are near to her heart, such as helping women in business, promoting entrepreneurship for inner city kids as well as taking an honorary role in the Royal Canadian Navy and being a spokesperson for the Breakfast Club of Canada. This year we are positively thrilled to add to her ever-growing list of awards: Best Philanthropist in YYC.
